Search and Rescue (SAR) tools using OGN

Below are useful links useful in an emergency. Use them in conjunction with the checklists below. If any of the links is broken, please notify us! In most cases, you'll be able to find the correct link by googling for the textual link description.

In case of a SAR event, do involve your country's Rescue Coordination Center without delay!

At the beginning of the season, take a moment to check and update your SAR readiness.

• Glidertracker.de. Tracking with past trace.
• The Original OGN Tracking site by Sebastien Chaumontet.
• If the aircraft has a transponder, check FlightAware.
• KTrax SAR view and search box; only for aircraft registered in DDB:
  • Gliders only
  • Fixed-wing except tow planes
  • Helicopters
  • Paragliders
  • All aircraft
  Note: When in doubt about the correct configuration of the missing aircraft's type, use the view for all aircraft.
• Glidernet Logbook. Search for the callsign / ID of the missing aircraft.
• Glidernet Flight book. Search for the callsign / ID of the missing aircraft.
• KTrax Logbook. Search for the callsign of the missing aircraft; works only for aircraft registered with KTrax.
• KTrax live range analyzer (ID search)
• KTrax live range analyzer (All aircraft received over the past few days; with links to last position. Use Ctrl-F to find a callsign)
• Search for IGC files of the missing pilot on OLC and WeGlide. IGC files may be useful to determine the FLARM ID of the glider.
• Complete dump of the DDB aircraft registry. Use Ctrl-F to find a callsign.
